West Virginia Veterinary Career Day is an annual event that helps students and their parents learn about the requirements for admittance into West Virginia
University, requirements for entry into veterinary schools and the West Virginia
Contract System.
2024 WV Veterinary Career Day will be Saturday, September 14
The event features a series of short presentations from a variety of veterinary
professionals and will give attendees an opportunity to interact one on one with
presenters and educators.
Veterinarians will offer insight on what their position entails professionally and what a typical “day” practicing veterinary medicine includes. Faculty from the WVU Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will be present to discuss the Davis-Michael Scholars program.
An overview of the West Virginia Veterinary School Contract system for West Virginia residents will also be presented.
The free event is open to middle, high school and college students interested in learning more about the field of veterinary medicine. Parents, high school teachers, counselors, college advisers and local veterinarians are also welcome to attend.
The event will be held from 9 a.m to 1:30 p.m at the WVU Erickson Alumni Center.
