Fall & Spring Semester- Continue with Course Requirements

- Gain Experience in a Different Veterinary Setting
- Begin to Visit Veterinary Schools of Interest
Junior Year
Fall Semester- Finish Most Course Requirements
- Take Beneficial Animal Science Courses, such as Anatomy and Pathology
Spring Semester
- Finish Most Course Requirements
- Take Beneficial Animal Science Courses
- Review for the GRE
- Sign Up to Take the GRE (or appropriate test) in the late Spring or early Summer
- Make Contact with References
- Decide Where You Will be Applying
Summer
- Start VMCAS application
- Take GRE or other test
- Obtain Letters of Recommendation
- Start Supplemental Applications to Veterinary Schools of Interest
- Gain Experience with a Veterinarian
- Start Contract application
Senior Year
Fall Semester
- Complete Applications to Veterinary Schools of Interest
- Complete VMCAS Application
- Complete Contract Applications if Applicable
- Finish Course Requirements
- Take Any Other Beneficial Courses, such as those in Business or Nutrition
- Receive Schedule of Interviews for Late Fall/Early Spring Semesters
- Schedule GRE Biology course if applying to UGA
Spring Semester
- Finish Requirements for B.S. in Animal Science/Biochemistry
- Most Invitations for Interviews will occur in late February/early March
- Receive Veterinary Acceptance Letters in late March/early April
Students may also apply in the Fall of the Junior Year for Early Acceptance into Veterinary School.
