Contract Schools

Because West Virginia does not have its own veterinary school, West Virginia Residents are given special consideration during application to The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, and Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In accordance with the WV Higher Education Policy Commission, these colleges reserve a specified number of contract seats for WV residents.

Applicants for admission to these colleges of veterinary medicine must present at least 60 (VA-MD)or 79 (Mississippi) semester hours of acceptable credit. For a more detailed look at the Veterinary contract schools, please visit each school’s website using the above links provided.
